- December 2006 -
cast in a feature film reading of Royal Suckage, a dramedy
chronicling the efforts of two stir-crazy young women to escape the
dismal little Pennsylvania mining town and their lives of drugs and
petty theft; playing the role of "Herbal" - a lovable pot-head, who
tries to escape his demons to be the man his fiance hopes he can be.
This script by Christina Ray won the Grand Prize at the 1997 Austin
Heart of Film Screenplay competition, as well as the Cygnus Fellowship,
which brought her to Hollywood in 1999 to workshop that screenplay with
actors Gil Bellows, Lucy Liu, Jane Krakowski and Luke Perry, among others.
This installment of the LIFT
Out Loud Reading Series will be held on Wednesday, December 6
at St. Stephen's In The Fields Church (320 College St, west of Spadina)
and will be moderated by DON McKELLAR.
- December
2006 - shooting a trailer for the feature film, The
Running of the Bulls, produced by Brian
O'Dea. A dark comedy, character piece about the seedy under belly
of the rickshaw world, packed full of action, violence and off-beat
humour; cast as Dylan, a street smart con artist with a gutter mouth
who learnt the hard way that life doesn’t give hand outs and you have
to take what you want.
- November 2006 -
wrapped shooting "Vigilante", caused quite a stir from the rooftops
in Toronto. Police responded to calls about an "unstable man in spandex"
prowling around the rooftops of Cabbagetown. Pictures to follow.
- October 2006 -
cast in a short film, Vigilante, playing the lead role
of "Hero", a man who, inspired by the comic book heroes of
his youth, has taken justice (and spandex) into his own hands so as
"to protect and serve" the public. It shoots in November.
- October 2006 -
cast as a member of the Provincial Health Team in a docu-drama on the
Walkerton E-Coli tragedy, "We Can Rebuild You", shooting this
month and airing on the Discovery Channel.
- October
2006 - cast in a staged reading of the new TV Pilot script "Face
to Face with Frank Hashmeyer" taking place at the Wildsound
Reading series at The
Pilot Tavern at Yonge and Cumberland on Tuesday, October 10, 2006.
- September - October
2006 - cast in a short film, "Til Death Do Us Part",
playing the principal role of "Crazy Bill", a thug involved
in a double-crossing money scheme gone wrong.
- July 11, 2006 -
performing in a staged reading of the new film script "Purple
Rinse" taking place at the Wildsound
Screenplay Reading series at The
Pilot Tavern at Yonge and Cumberland on Tuesday, July 11th.
- July 8, 2006 -

- June 24, 2006 -
participated in the Toronto
48 Hour Film challenge, taking a lead role in a short film that
was written, shot and edited in 48 hours.

Hour - North Hollywood Shootout have just been posted.
- June 3, 2006 -
finished shooting a short film entitled "Eight Years Later";
played a convict recently released from prison and re-united with the
ex-girlfriend and co-conspirator, who 'sold him out' after their heist.

- May 26, 2006 -
New photos from Michael's first short film in Toronto, The
Pregnancy, have just been posted.
- May
11, 2006 - In addition to the role of Sgt. Rick Massa, cast in the large
principal role of Detective Grimes on the docu-drama, Zero
Hour - North Hollywood Shootout. Shooting wraps May 12th.
- April 28, 2006
- cast in the docu-drama, Zero
Hour - North Hollywood Shootout - a documentary about a
much publicized attempted bank robbery in North Hollywood on February
28, 1997 which turned into one of the worst cases of urban warfare in
US History; playing the principal role of Sgt.
Rick Massa of the LAPD Swat Team, who in real life recieved a Medal
of Valor in 1998 for his courageous actions during the shootout. Zero
Hour - North Hollywood Shootout will air on Discovery Channel
Europe and History Channel Canada. Shooting begins in May.
