From stage to
screen to cabarets, Sedina Fiati is a versatile actor and singer
of Trinidadian and Ghanaian descent. Born and raised in Toronto,
Ms. Fiati began her career in the entertainment industry at Etobicoke
School of the Arts majoring in Music Theatre and Music. From there,
she went on to complete her B.F.A Music Theatre degree at the University
of Windsor. Since graduating in 2004, Sedina has appeared in a wide
variety of projects including indie films, cabarets, Shakespeare,
musicals and straight plays. Some of her most notable appearances
include: Ariel in Alchemy Theatre's The Tempest, The Nurse
in Forward Theatre's Romeo & Juliet, Glinda in The Fringe
Festival's Oz Recalled and Val in MRubinoff's A Chorus
Line. Most recently, Sedina has joined b current's rAiz'n ensemble
for emerging artists, having recently appeared in 7th gen, a collective
creation piece, at the 7th annual rock.paper.sistahz festival. She
has also starred in two films currently on the festival circuit,
A Clumsy Encounter with Sofina Productions and I Love You with Sabrina
Moella.
Sedina Fiati is
also a producer and creator. She is currently in pre production
for the short film Caleb written with Diana Raponi and for a tv
project about midwifery. She also works at b current as the outreach/rAiz'n
developer (see www.bcurrent.ca)
and recently produced the award winning Rendezvous With Home at
SummerWorks 2008. Sedina was also the production apprentice at Obsidian
Theatre Company for the 2007/2008 season. She is currently featured
in her own self produced cabaret, The Sedina Show, currently at
Statler's Lounge. 2009 marks the year when The Sedina Show will
begin a bi monthly schedule, so check for updates!
